What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy exploring the strengths and weaknesses of my students. I believe that to help students succeed, one must have a holistic understanding of their abilities. I want to help students not only improve on what they are not confident in, but also further excel in their strengths. I love setting goals with my students and overtime seeing their motivation grow as they meet these goals. I strongly believe in setting realistic goals in order to not overwhelm students, while still pushing them to do the best they can.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I believe my strengths as a tutor are my interpersonal skills and attention to detail. I enjoy building rapport with my students, and making them feel comfortable with me. I believe this helps students feel less anxious about tutoring sessions and makes them more likely to be productive. I am able to provide constructive criticism without being judgmental and will praise work that is done well. My attention to detail allows for me to pick out the most minuscule of errors in essays and help my students develop an essay that is of very high standards.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think it is very important that a tutor really listens to what their student needs in order to cater to these needs. I always like to ask my students how they usually study and what they have found works best for them. I also like to introduce my students to other methods of learning that I believe may be beneficial to them, when working with me but also when working alone. After I have taught a new concept to my student, I make sure to test them on this concept and ensure that they have understood me. If they still do not understand, I will approach the problem in a different way.
