What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

It gives me great joy when you’ve been working through a concept with a student and they have that light bulb moment in their heads when they finally piece everything we have learned together and form an understanding of the topic. I enjoy it when I visibly see the relief and joy in the students faces when they realise they now understand the concept.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I would like to believe that I am personable and do not maintain an intimidating front when it comes to tutoring students. I am patient with students. I am also able to adapt my teaching style to the way they learn, making for effective progress.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to support them, encourage them and listen to them. Instilling fear in students and shaming them for not knowing a concept or for not understanding something is unacceptable. A tutor needs to be someone that makes their students confident and builds them up as they receive enough pressures from their teachers, peers and family. Tutors must allow students to ask questions and give students the confidence to speak up if they do not understand something. Our job is to help them learn, not memorise.
