What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

The thing that I enjoy most about tutoring is teaching new concepts to the students that they never heard of and having them to learn and understand the concepts explained by the tutor. It brings me such joy and rewarding experiences when students understand the explanations of the concepts. Another thing is that I enjoy making connections with students and also to the other tutors too within the same premises. I found that teaching students can also have positive impact on them, mentally or socially. This fulfils me to give back values to the students.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

The greatest strength of me as tutor is having experience with students from wide range of age (5-17), from which I've developed great patience and empathy for different age's problems and difficulties in learning. I can understand the students' needs without asking based on physical expressions and learning attitudes, which allows for flexible adaptations in teaching styles accordingly. Being a graduate from health science discipline, I have a good correlation between theory and real-life (industrial) application of knowledge which can be utilised to gain interests and focus during lessons.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

A tutor's main job is to help re-explaining new concepts and/or help students consolidate new concepts as well as integrating new ones as they are being taught. Therefore, the most important things that a tutor can do for a student is to explain new concepts in simple and relatable terms, encourage interests in a particular subject and most importantly, to help students feel the significance/purpose of a subject i.e. why does it matter doing maths? what is the point of learning Mathematics? This can be achieved by engaging with students to enable their understanding and application of concepts
