What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

English is a great passion; seeing improvements made and accomplishing goals (whether small or large) makes my day. The ability to help out with content that causes students' eyes to light up when they finally understand something they have worked so hard to achieve is the best thing I could ever ask for as a tutor and a pre-service teacher. Most students in my surroundings are frowned upon for reaching out for tutoring and support. Children and adults deserve support and need to be in a comfortable, inclusive environment to thrive; providing that support and guidance is constantly rewarding.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

My strengths are my ability to take a step back, listen, and truly understand the hardships and circumstances my students and friends undergo. From a personal perspective, support must be reciprocated by others, as it is hard to trust and believe that someone is there for you when they do not take the time to listen. Additionally, I am a confident individual who can find methods that concisely work for others through my innate ability to believe in others and find the good in everyone.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

The most important things a tutor can do for a student is to believe in them, support them every step of the way, and believe in themselves. It is easy to get frustrated when pre-planned methods are not working, or when students struggle with the concepts at hand. It is pertinent that tutors remain calm and are able to improvise and reflect. As our world grows around us, we are met with increasingly different needs and abilities of students, thus educators must be able to cater to every need to improve and provide opportunities and equal outcomes for all students.
