What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Seeing the joy on a persons face once they finally understand a topic/problem they had been struggling with for a long time.
Just seeing people improve and develop over time with your guidance and support.
For example as a referee mentor watching a young referee for the first time, identifying that they have a weakness in one area of their game (i.e positioning), then going to watch them the following week and noticing a significant improvement in their officiating because they had took your advice on board, I gave them confident/self belief and they enjoy there refereeing.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My ability to breakdown complex/challenging questions and formulas into easier concepts for the person I am tutoring to understand. They can than apply these basic concepts to a variety of different problems to find the correct solutions.
Also my ability to explain complex topics and scenarios in simple terms that make it easier for a client to understand.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Help build the students self confidence by always being supportive and never judgemental or critical.
Assist the student with setting goals for the semester and support the student in every possible way to achieve those goals.
Make tutoring sessions interesting and fun for both yourself and the student (that means a comfortable learning environment)
A tutor is not only an educator who shares knowledge with their students, but they also there as a friend.

Went well = Ava appeared bright and welcoming. Being the first session, I generally used it to gauge Ava’s understanding and check her knowledge base. While Ava did struggle a bit at the start of the session, I could see her confidence grow. By the end she had a solid foundational understanding of circular functions.
Needs improvement: Ava should revise the basic applications of the unit circle so she can move on to tackling more complex principals.

Went well = after a brief recap of the foundational knowledge which Ava understood quite well, we moved onto the more involved topics. Ava was able explain to me the basic principles of sine and cosine functions. At the end of the session, we went through a worked example for solving the tan function which Ava fully understood.
Needs improvement: Ava should revise all topics covered in the session to ensure she is best prepared for her test on Monday. I provided Ava with some resources to help her in her preparations. I wish her all the best for the test.
