What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I enjoy tutoring because it provides me with the opportunity to teach a range of students in a one-on-one situation and assist students in achieving their academic and personal goals. I enjoy assisting students to elevate self-confidence, and I love sharing the excitement that comes with improvement.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I am adaptable to a wide variety of situations. During my previous tutoring experiences, each student had different needs and difficulties. I was effective in changing my approach to suit the needs of the individual to optimise individual outcomes.
I love sharing my passion for English and Science with my students and being a model of success. I feel this is very important in ensuring each student gets the most out of their session as it inspires the student and sustains interest during the session. Furthermore, I am excellent at listening, building a rapport and empathising with students.
Most important things I can do for a student π
Ultimately, I believe the most important thing a tutor can do is instill self-confidence within the student, positively change a student's view and approach toward learning, and assist in improving student academic performance. In my opinion, a tutor is more likely to achieve these positive student outcomes if they are consistently:
- Honest, empathetic and patient
- Adaptable and confident
- Open to sharing personal experiences
- Good at listening to the student's needs
- Maintaining student confidentiality
- Implementing methods to assist the student in becoming an independent learner
