What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy teaching children and seeing them build confidence in themselves and improve. I have a love of humanities subjects especially History and English so I love to share my knowledge on these subjects and see other people enjoy learning them too. I enjoy working hard and maintaining my dedication to the students so that they can see results. I find it incredibly rewarding seeing students improve their skills in the subject but also gain confidence and feel supported in learning and retaining knowledge.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
As a tutor I think my strengths would be working with the students to find the best way for them to learn individually. I am dedicated to seeing students get the most out of their tutoring experience. I think everyone learns differently and when students feel positive and they look forward to learning and they enjoy what they are learning they will improve their academic performance. From my experience as a Junior Swim Coach, the most rewarding experience was seeing the children enjoy what they were doing and engage in the sessions.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is offer support and create a learning environment which is positive and engaging to the student. I think tutors should be able to help their students build confidence and find ways of learning that allow the individual student to improve. I think tutors are responsible for being dedicated and hard-working to see their students succeed and grow in the subjects that they are learning. I think it is important for a tutor to set a good example for their student and lead from the front, being a mentor that the student can rely upon.

This lesson went well and the student felt very confident for the exam. Overall, the student has applied themselves well and I have seen a lot of improvement across the course of tutoring this student.
I recommended the student continue to revise quotes regularly as this seems to be the major weakness at this point. Apart from that the student should continue to practice their skills in the lead up to the exam and stay confident and relaxed.
This week was a good revision lesson. The student did well and has shown a lot of improvement.

The student should ensure that their plans are detailed and include quotes in them that they can use. They should also ensure that they write down their arguments for each paragraph clearly in the plan. The student needs to pay attention to remembering their quotes as this was identified as an area of weakness.

The student did a great job this lesson and at this stage I recommended the student continue to practice writing essays and remembering quotes.

Going through the examination report was helpful for the student to see what the mistakes were from previous years because it gave good advice for what to focus on when studying and practicing.
This week went well and the student and I agreed on a study plan going forward which would include doing 2 hour lessons and what texts we would focus on.
