What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy the seeing the happiness of a student when they receive higher than the marks they expected and have aimed for. Being a part of their results and assisting them at becoming better is such a beautiful experience. A student always is improving themselves, there is no perfect student. I also appreciate the fact that I am constantly bringing back knowledge that will always be useful for me in the future.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe that I am comfortable explaining concepts in various ways (for example some people are visual learners and some students have to be able to apply content to real life situations to understand) to students and adapt to their learning style. Another strength that I find beneficial for tutoring is my ability to communicate easily with a wide range of students given my previous experience in my leadership positions.
I have learned from my mistakes (being a part of the new ATAR system) and I know what criteria is important for the answers, I believe I can use these skills to assist studen
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
- not only explain questions/ideas/concepts but also allowing them to explain it back (whether it is by asking questions or some other means) so that the tutor is able to better understand how well the student has grasped the information.
- a tutor has to be able to do is teach students how to approach questions, what syllabus descriptors are being asked, what particular information the answer requires for it become a better explanation
- don't stress out and scare the student, instead assist them in improving both mentally (confidently approaching an exam paper) and academically

Lina was making minor mistakes mainly due to stress of the upcoming exam. Unfortunately this was my last lesson with Lina as she has now finished high school.
Lina seemed familiar with majority of the concepts in the sample paper and was able to do many questions without doubts.

It would have been been beneficial if she had already done some questions before the lesson so she could get questions answered
Lina and I were able to flow through the rest of the exam and was able to complete any repetitive questions by herself

questions from topics related to networks, graphs and tables appeared to be in Lina's comfort zone. We went through how to interpret those types of questions.

Lina needs to slow down and re-read the question, sometimes she tends to overlook important information.
