What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The most rewarding aspect of tutoring is seeing a student finally understand and grasp a concept that they had prior difficulties with at school or alone. Alongside this, the next best thing about tutoring is that it is usually done with small groups so I as the tutor have the opportunity to create close bonds with the students as opposed to teaching a classroom with 25 students.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Personally, I think my biggest strength as a tutor is the way I adapt to individual students. Every student has a specific way of understanding things or grasping things so it is my job as their tutor to change up the learning plan, the contents and the pace to accommodate their individual needs. I also have an energetic and enthusiastic personality that helps me be a better teacher. By approaching lessons with enthusiasm and willingness, I hope that the student will also show enthusiasm and willingness to learn. Another one of my strengths is that I am patient with my students.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
A tutor of course, should see to it that the student learns the material that they need to efficiently and thoroughly, but I believe that the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to teach them the desire to learn and efficient ways to study. This is the most important thing I try to achieve as a tutor because doing this ensures that they will have an easier time adjusting to their studies in the future should there be a time where they need to get through schoolwork alone.

Flynn just recently started learning matrices at school. He has got the general concept of it down and is able to confidently and swiftly procure the answer on his classpad.
Although it is good that Flynn has figured out a way to get help from his classpad, some of the questions or tests in his class will require him to show his workings and the steps he took so as to ensure that he completely understands the steps. We will be doing more questions manually.

Flynn tends to trail off quite often, but we can finish a good amount of questions in a day to put into practice. In the beginning of each session, he was a bit disorganized and did not have his things ready or at the table. This is not a very big deal as I do not mind giving him a few minutes of my time for him to get ready, but it would be easier for us if he prepares for the session beforehand.

I am quite happy with his understanding of the current chapter. He has made fewer mistakes in his steps and approaches questions with confidence. He has also been taught more than one way of doing things as well as ways to check his answers. It will take him a while to completely master and remember these concepts, but I am positive that Owen will be able to achieve that goal.
There are more topics, concepts, and scenarios that I would like to show Owen but I do not think he is currently ready. Owen will have to do more questions and homework.

Owen is still doing well in terms of his linear algebra chapter. He did a few more questions of linear algebra and showed that he had remembered concepts and techniques well from past sessions. We also worked on some algebra that Owen felt that he did not understand.
I think that Owen has gotten a better idea of the concept that he didn't understand, but I believe that he should do more questions of that type.
