What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I really enjoy the mentorship aspect of tutoring. To be given the opportunity and privilege to help someone achieve their goals and overcome challenges is what I enjoy most about tutoring. I think teachers and tutors form a vital part of a young person’s future and I really appreciate the opportunity to be a positive influence in someone’s formative years.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I have substantial knowledge in my field, and I have a passion for my subject which I can transfer to my students. I also have a very empathetic mindset, and through this I am able to provide a safe and encouraging environment for young people to learn. Having been a student myself and been presented with many challenges that I have had to overcome, I am able to empathise with the students, know their challenges and how to overcome them.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to give them the ability of effective self management in their studies. The best thing a tutor can do is to teach them learning strategies and develop a student’s self awareness in their learning, so that the students are more independent and are able to develop their own learning strategies and apply them to their studies. A tutor’s overarching goal should be to give their student agency over their own learning, so they are able to overcome their difficulties of their own accord.
