What I enjoy most about tutoring is the open space for discussion and dialogue it creates for students, which is especially important in subjects such as English. One essential strength that I've come to posses as a tutor is my ability to keep students engaged in the material they are learning by cultivating in the students a keen interest and passion in the content being taught. Listening to students and identifying the areas in which students need additional assistance is one of the most crucial roles of a tutor. Therefore, tutors must be responsive to students by carefully listening to their areas of concern, and taking these into account in order to organize lessons that are best suited for developing the necessary skills of the student to excel in a subject. While Jessica picks up on mathematical methods pretty quickly, she may find it more difficult to identify what a questions is asking, especially if it is a worded problem question. She'll need to familiarize herself with certain vocabulary as well as logical comprehension of mathematical scenarios.
