What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I love the opportunity to pass on the knowledge, wisdom and skills onto other people so that may be able to excel in their own way and achieve high results and outcomes to prepare and propel them throughout their lives. Seeing them encounter the "Ah ha! I understand!" moment also fills me with great joy and satisfaction knowing I've been able to assist a student to understand a concept and gain much needed confidence. The opportunity to build rapport with students and parents and learning their future aspirations is also an honour.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I believe my strengths include my passion and experience, as well as a clear understanding of the new curriculum and its requirements. I also believe my ability to build rapport with students is helpful as they will feel more comfortable during sessions and be able to inform me of their issues in maths more clearly therefore enhancing productivity. My previous experience tutoring has taught me new teaching and eliciting techniques in order to help the student gain confidence and understand concepts better.
Most important things I can do for a student π
I believe the most important things a tutor can do is offer the correct support educationally but also help them build their confidence to a point they can begin to work things out for themselves without guidance. It is important to remain professional at all times but also be a tutor who is willing to understand the circumstances surrounding the student and always show unconditional positive regard when tutoring them. Patience and belief in the student is also crucial since some students may find particular concepts hard to understand when we find them very easy.
