What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy the most about tutoring is the sense of satisfaction when I help students address their academic weak spots and see their improvements over time. Whilst helping my younger brother with his speech for an English competition in China during this summer holiday, seeing him becoming more fluent and confident and watching him receiving a gold in the competition really brought a paralleled sense of achievement for me.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
When I was helping my brother (in grade 5) with his English homework, I was able to identify his weak spots and suggest better study methods and resources which I used when I was preparing for the literacy part of the selective entrance exams. Likewise, having undertaken VCE and UMEP maths, I acquired study methods and resources that have helped me throughout high school and am willing to share them with students. In addition, I am committed to all my work, and am willing to answer any questions or correct work outside session hours.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
In my opinion, a high level of expertise and insights into the subjects (beyond the scope of the curriculum) the tutor can offer to students are the most essential factors as these can enhance students’ understanding of the subject and potentially help students to develop an interests in them. In addition, I believe in the importance of the support and the encouragement the tutor provides to students as they can impact a student’s confidence which may influence their academic performance.
