What do I enjoy most about tutoring? ๐
Personally, tutoring is an extremely rewarding experience for me in general as I am able to teach others skills that I have learnt myself. It also provides opportunities for important relationships between a teacher and student to foster which I find essential in tutoring or any form of teaching. Rather than a formal student and tutor relationship, being able to have a professional yet comfortable environment for students to learn is important. Through my experience with Equal Ed, I have discovered the joy of teaching others and also the beauty of learning whilst teaching as well.
My Strengths as Tutor ๐ช
I believe my strengths lie in what I can provide for students seeking help. By this, I refer to the resources that I can possibly provide them with and also my resilience and persistence in teaching. I also have a strong driven passion in teaching in a form that really allows students to gain. As a high school graduate, I understand the feelings of being tutored where confidence can inhibit one's learning as they are afraid to ask questions because it may seem redundant or as if they less informed. I believe as a tutor, the main goal is to at least contribute to their further understanding.
Most important things I can do for a student ๐
Students who seek for tutors always desire a further understadnign in the specific topic that they struggle with. Thus, tutors should be able to guide them towards understanding their topic of concern and it is crucial that tutors adapt to different students in order to create a session that is specifically tailored to the student. This is becase all students have different ways of learning and usually tutors must be able to accomodate to how students learn as they are investing towards achieving a better understanding which is beyond just grades.
