What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

As someone who enjoys learning I love enabling children to learn. Helping people to grow, learn and discover new things every day makes me feel good inside. My favourite thing about tutoring is the satisfaction on the students face when they have understood a concept that was initially difficult. I also enjoy building the personal relationships between the tutor and the student with a sense of trust and companionship. I also believe that tutoring is a fantastic job choice because it offers flexible hours, experience and the ability to expand your own knowledge.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

As a tutor I believe that my strengths are in my fundamental understanding of mathematics. Throughout my schooling life I took the time to understand the maths and the sequence of steps that derived the answer. I believe that this will enhance my ability to tutor because I have a solid understanding of the rudimentary principles of mathematics, allowing me to thoroughly explain concepts and ideas to my student.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I believe that an important thing to consider is empathy and encouragement, as students often look up to their tutors for advice, validation and knowledge. Another significant thing a tutor can do for a student is provide them with plenty of practice questions and worksheets, especially for mathematics, practice questions allow certain concepts to sink in. As each student is different it is also important to personalise the learning and incorporate connections to the students interests. This would assist in making the learning more cooperative and engaging, hence more fun!
