What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy tutoring because it allows me pass on my knowledge to other students, as well as teach students who may struggle with a certain concept or subject.
I love to pass on my advice to other students so they can learn from a past student who has 'secret tricks' to make high school seem a lot easier and stress free.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
As a tutor, I believe my strengths would be experience and knowledge. I could share my experiences to help current primary and/or high school students make smarter decisions about their education.
Maths was a strong point of mine growing up, and I believe I did very well in both advanced and extension 1 in year 12. At university, I don't study any math courses due to my degree and I feel as though I miss learning it. Hence, teaching it will bring the joy I had studying math.
I also did well in PDHPE, particularly in my class. It was a subject I was both interested in and excelled in.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can do wouldn't be to have the answers to every question they have. It would be to teach a student properly so they understand the task properly, so that in the future, they can do it by themselves. It is important to teach students that mistakes often occur and these are crucial, as it allows us to recognise weaknesses and strengths of the student, and hence work to fix these weaknesses. I believe there may be times where a tutor may have difficulty figuring out a solution to a question. In these situations, both individuals work together to find the solution.
