What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I really enjoy getting the chance to meet and work with new people and new students. It is very rewarding to build a relationship with my students and then see them through to their results and know you've made a difference. One of my first students did not have a natural aptitude for Maths but after a few months of tuition they were inspired to pursue a career in medicine which they are now studying at university and good grades in Maths was essential to that happening. I enjoy revisiting Maths I studied earlier in my education and sharing the different insights I have on different topics.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Being able to show students a different way of looking at problems so they can gain a more thorough understanding of Maths and potentially even enjoy it at times is important. A strength I have is to know topics inside out and not just know a method for solving problems so I can pass on knowledge rather than just information. I am a very friendly approachable person so I think I put my students at ease when working with them. I think I communicate well with my students so that there is a constant conversation on how much explanation and time students need until they are happy to move on.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing for me is to provide an environment where students are comfortable so that they feel able to ask questions at any time and fully express themselves and let their tutor know when and how they are struggling. Also, I think it is important to make yourself always available and reachable so if a student has questions or problems in between lessons then they don't have to wait. Providing structured lessons where students can take away clear notes and methods for topics is also important so they are not too dependent on the tuition and there is a take away for them.
