What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
Personally I have always found it easier to learn and grasp new concepts when they are explained in a way that makes sense to me. I understand how difficult high school can be and a little extra help can make all the difference.
I really enjoy making a difference in a student's ability to understand a subject at school. It could change their belief in themselves and their ability to pursue their chosen career.
I am excited to form connections with the students I teach both academically and personally.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I had to work hard in high school to achieve high grades so I understand that not one way of learning will make sense to everyone.
I have experience mentoring and genuinely enjoying working with school students, which is a huge advantage as teenagers can tell if you are there for the right reasons.
I have an understanding of university maths and a practical application of the physics learnt in high school that is used in engineering.
I am patient and enthusiastic and enjoy getting along with almost everyone.
Most important things I can do for a student π
- A tutor needs to listen to a student about what they do and don't understand. Everyone is different.
- A tutor needs to equip the student to problem solve and nut things out on their own. The tutor won't be there to help in the exam!
- A tutor needs to encourage the student to learn.
- Develop clear goals and study plans.
- Understand what the student wants to achieve and tailor the work to suit them.
