What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I love getting to know children and understanding new and different learning styles that all children have. I appreciate the approaches, experiences and ideas that children bring to a table of learning. I love going back and redoing high school subjects as my interest and recognition of the importance is heightened, which makes me appreciate learning more than ever!

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I am always up for questioning and exploring different ways to approach a problem, which is often helpful when approaching a new concept and finding the approach that best suits the student's learning style. I support children to learn a concept and idea, but also am careful to be sure the student learns it for themselves and can then approach a similar problem successfully on their own. I am a positive and enthusiastic learner who is always willing to learn new things for myself as well.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

A tutor must be invested in a student's learning in order for the teaching and tutoring to be effective and positive for the student's experience. A tutor can approach learning often in different ways that are addressed in the classroom, meaning the student may find a learning style or approach that suits them better and one that they can apply in other subject areas to be more effective. One on one time is critically important to gain a deeper understanding and feel comfortable asking questions about any doubts or concerns. A tutor must be a safe space for students to question.
