What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I enjoy teaching in general, I think it is an amazing ability that humans have to pass down knowledge in such an efficient manner.
I remember when I was learning C++ none of my teachers in school knew it so I had to learn it myself with books and you-tube videos. Then when it came for me to teach my friend he picked it up so much faster than I did mostly because he could get instant answers to problems or any questions he had instead of spending hours looking online.
What I am trying to say is I enjoy being able to fix other peoples problems.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
My strengths are that I truly enjoy the subject matter (in this case mathematics) and is something that I am pursuing myself. I have learnt how to explain problems in an easy and concise manner through my job at JayCar where I have to give technical advice to not very technical people. I think most importantly I love to learn and would love the opportunity to learn more about tutoring from your institution.
Most important things I can do for a student π
A tutor should be able to teach their students in an interesting manner, and be more personal. For me I had a tutor in mathematics in grade 6 and he was almost like a friend (and motivated me to enjoy maths myself), I don't think tutors need to be exactly like teachers as students already have to deal with them at school. Most importantly a tutor should be able to inspire the student, without inspiration the student will never be self motivated to learn without them.
