What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I believe tutoring is a great way to help boost my confidence and expand my knowledge. Most importantly, I find tutoring to be a valuable break from my university studies – a time to build valuable relationships with students and other tutors alike, a chance to give back to the community and to pass on my knowledge to others. I also think that allotting a few hours of my weekend to teach students will help me refresh my mind before meeting the challenges of the next week. Moreover, tutoring adds valuable content to my resume and allows me to earn an extra income.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Academics are very important to me and as an aspiring pre-med student I understand the importance of good grades. I am punctual, patient and efficient. I am able to break-down complex concepts into smaller digestible pieces, for I employ this method myself. I think this is a valuable skill - especially for students who struggle, in a tutor. I can help break-down concepts and apply day-to-day examples to help students understand concepts and furthermore, retain it well. I am passionate about the sciences and have an excellent grasp of biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe, the best things a tutor can do for a student is to personalise lessons to fit the learning style of each student, help them identify their strengths and teach to their strengths. In addition, it is important for a tutor to listen and communicate often with parents – successful tutors create individualized learning plans with their students, in collaboration with parents in order to set students up for academic success.
