What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy seeing students' smiles and a boost in their confidence after they successfully solves a problem with my aid. Their sudden realisation of how they are able to easily tackle a problem that they had struggled with before can always warm up my heart.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think one of my strengths is patience. When working with students, it is important to follow their pace to allow them to feel comfortable. However, it is also important to give them a little push at times, but not too far for them to lose motivation.
Another strengths which I think I have is consideration. It is crucial to acknowledge that everyone process information differently and therefore, an explanation which solved one student's queries doesn't mean that it will work the same way for others.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
It is important for tutors to try to put themselves into students' shoes, in terms of what exactly do they have difficulty with as well as finding out the precise point of confusion that students are facing, rather than blindly implementing different strategies and hoping that they will be able to understand a complex concept.

It was good to see that Juliette wanted to challenge herself this lesson. She was able to get a grasp of some complex questions and were able to solve them by herself after a couple of practices with me.
Juliette needs to understand the importance of putting things down on paper. I feel like sometimes she does too much thinking on her head which would lead her to doubt herself if she can't solve the question in her head. Once she write her thought process down, it became much easier for her to solve the problems.

I was surprised that Juliette was able to remember nearly everything from last lesson. Some topic interconnect with one another and she was able to pick that up and solve them using her prior knowledge.
Quite a bit of recap would be needed for the topics that we have covered last year. It looks like Juliette is still struggling on similar topics that she was not confident with last year, but it is good that she knows her areas of strengths and weaknesses now!

Juliette is starting to show all of her working out rather than just giving a number as her answer. I'd like to see her continue doing this and slowly develop this step as her habit.
I'd like to see Juliette being more confident about her maths skills. Sometimes she can jump into conclusions fast that she's unable to solve a question. If I ask her to read it again and write down the main clues, she was able to solve them without me giving her hints.

Although Juliette was not able to remember much from fractions (multiplication, division, addition), she was able to pick them up again quickly once a couple of examples has been worked through with her.
Decimals, fractions, and percentages conversions needs a bit of work for Juliette. The topic of probability in relation to fractions also needs quite a bit practice.
