What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
One of the reasons I enjoyed my final years of high school was because I was genuinely interested in what I was learning and that was because my tutors put in a lot of effort to help me understand and appreciate the beauty of Mathematics. I wish to be like this and help students reach their potential. In my experience being a tutor for Mathematics, I have most enjoyed seeing my students finally grasp concepts and understand them. Overall, what I most enjoy about tutoring is the concept of teaching itself...
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I have a strong background in Mathematics as I received top bands for my HSC in Mathematics Extension II and I. In addition, studying Mathematics at university has definitely consolidated my high school understanding of the subject. Futhermore, I have good interpersonal skills as I am a people person. I have worked in a customer service role for three years as well as being the President of a UNSW society. The communications skills I have gained from these experiences will help me to communicate effectively with the student. Finally, my experience will also help me as a tutor.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
A tutors role is to provide so much to the student whether it be knowledge itself or confidence in learning. However, I believe one of the most important things a tutor can do for a student is to create a sense of curiosity for them. It is clear that people learn better when they have the desire to, so making the content interesting and applicable will help the student to understand its importance and better their ability to learn it.
