What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy undertaking the journey of helping students grasp concepts beyond a superficial level, focusing on developing deep learning that sometimes the classroom does not facilitate. I believe each student requires a personalized program that will help them hone their individual strengths and especially target their areas of weaknesses. Having been a teaching assistant at Kumon, whereby I assisted students of all abilities with mathematics and English (literacy) has given me hands on experience of what tutoring involves.My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I foster a growth mindset and believe in learning beyond exams and assessments. I am creative in the methods I teach and endeavour to employ the use of visual aids and concept summaries. Further I am willing to supplement each student’s learning with personalised learning and revision aids (resources from my own study that I personalize with questions to target problem areas). The essence of tutoring is being there to support students along their academic journey thus enabling them to develop the confidence to solve problems and grasp challenging concepts that provide them with a competitive edge in a classroom environment. I think the basis of tutoring is to equip students with skills to independently explain concepts in their own words and to apply that knowledge to assessments as well as learning for life.
