What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I enjoy seeing the progress in the children I help, and seeing their confidence in subjects boosted. I received a lot of positive feedback, explaining that the child I tutor has improved significantly in his classwork and confidence.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I think my strengths are my honesty with students' improvements, my encouraging and enthusiastic attitude towards completing work, and my will to listen to how students feel about their subjects and working with their strengths. For example, during mental maths the child I tutor often works too quickly and makes mistakes, but with frequent explaining and directing on how to complete problems systematically and use attention to detail, his maths skills improved significantly. Then, seeing how he has improved in his marks, it reassured him that he could continue to learn and improve.
Most important things I can do for a student π
I consider an improvement in confidence incredibly significant to a child's attitude to learning. If a student is confident in their abilities to learn a subject, then they will be more likely to put effort into correcting their mistakes. This confidence and ability to recognise improvement will directly and positively affect the student's self esteem, which is vital in learning a challenging subject and proceeding with education optimistically and ambitiously.
