What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy being able to provide student the time and effort necessary for them to become comfortable to learn mathematics in the classroom. I want students to be able to have the knowledge required to not stress about their next maths class, as school should not be a place of stress but a place where students are not left behind.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪

- A positive and patient attitude towards teaching
- Time management
- Had 2 tutors in senior school to learn from
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Be patient. Tutors cannot expect students to understand or get the question right the first time. It is important for tutors to understand where the student went wrong and to slowly and easily correct them by following the question. Once they grasped an understanding, tutors should give the student similar questions to practice so they are comfortable around the topic.

Needs a quick nudge to get her started with questions; e.g. when she's presented with a triangle and needs to find the area, she needs to be shown the values and process before working out what to do Struggles with worded questions (very common with maths students). She still seems uncertain and not confident with the test coming up (17/03) so she might need to keep practicing to improve her confidence.
Understanding maths terminology Quick learner with new content Very eager to improve Able to speak out loud while answering the question

Needs to be able to answer the question without a hint at the start, even though there is nothing wrong with asking for help, but it does show a lack of confidence. So we need to work on how to answer the question from the start without a nudge. Shows frustration when she doesn't know where to go while answering a question. So we need to work on remaining calm when nervous and to carefully think what the question is asking for.
