What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I find tutoring incredibly rewarding when we are able to dissect difficult concepts with students through discussions and allows them to acquire the ability to solve complex issues, the "aha" moment where students are able to understand concepts which they used to struggle with. The satisfaction of being able to spark their interest in studying and problem solving is where my passion at, allowing students of younger age to think critically and embracing challenges on paper, like it is a video game that they always enjoy.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strength as a tutor would be the communication skills and the ability to think from students' perspective when tackling issue. Prior to my senior year in high school, I struggled a lot with studying and was not able to understand concepts from its root, but simply trying to make up my flaws by forcefully memorizing equations and formulas that do not make sense to me. Yet, as I progress, I was able to dissect concepts by pieces, understanding why instead of forceful repetition. This experience allows me to echo with students of similar path, and can guide them through similar struggle.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the most important things would be providing a supportive environment and fostering independent thinking of students with guidance. I believe studying is an enjoyment, instead of struggle. The essence of a tutor is to break down complex ideas that make sense to students, yet building up their confidence throughout the way. Through understanding varying abilities of students, we can accommodate their needs and goals, work together on their problem solving styles, and eventually building up their confidence and fostering a self-sufficient learning ownership.
