What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

What I enjoy most about tutoring is the opportunity to empower others through learning and to create a supportive environment where they feel confident to grow. As someone who values community and believes in the importance of representation, tutoring allows me to mentor and inspire the next generation—especially women and minorities in STEM fields. In my role as a Peer Mentor for Women in Science and Engineering (W.I.S.E.) at the University of Michigan, I’ve had the privilege of guiding students through challenges, celebrating their successes, and helping them navigate their unique paths.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

What I enjoy most about tutoring is the opportunity to empower others through learning and to create a supportive environment where they feel confident to grow. As someone who values community and believes in the importance of representation, tutoring allows me to mentor and inspire the next generation—especially women and minorities in STEM fields. Tutoring is also an extension of my commitment to inclusive and accessible design. Just as I ensure my UX designs serve diverse users, I strive to tailor my tutoring approach to meet each student’s individual learning style and needs.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

A great tutor does more than just teach—they empower, guide, and inspire students to reach their full potential. A tutor’s goal isn’t just to help with immediate challenges but to equip students with the skills to solve future problems on their own. Many students, especially women and minorities in STEM, face imposter syndrome. A great tutor reinforces their potential and ability to succeed. Additionally, every student processes information differently—some learn best through visuals, others through step-by-step explanations or hands-on practice.
