What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Back in Hong Kong when I started tutoring three years ago, I initially saw it as a part-time job to help cover my tuition fees. However, I found it most rewarding to witness my students' improvement. The moments when a student learned something new or grasped a previously confusing concept were especially fulfilling.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
In addition to tutoring, I have studied and developed interests in counselling psychology and the creative industries. My previous experiences in these fields have enabled me to:
1. Sympathize with and deeply understand the students' pain points, even from a psychological perspective regarding their behaviour.
2. Explain concepts creatively in ways that are easily understandable.
3. Identify the root causes of confusion within the curriculum.
4. Adapt teaching style to meet the student's unique needs
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Not only academic but also personal growth is what I consider most important. While academic improvement is a key focus and often a priority for students and their parents, I believe fostering curiosity and building confidence should be integral to the teaching process. Tutors and teachers play a vital role in nurturing students, helping them grow as individuals, develop a love for learning, and gain the self-assurance to tackle challenges independently.
