What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

When someone is struggling to understand something that I had to learn at their age, I recognise my younger self in them. I remember my own frustrations, the feelings of being inadequate for not understanding something as quickly as the others, the long nights spent trying to catch up. Most importantly, I remember the people that helped me. So when someone needs my help to understand something, I want to fight that fight with them, because that is what helped me.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I am good at adapting how I explain things. One of my issues with many of my teachers was that they would only teach their material in one way, the issue of teaching a whole class rather than a single student. However, as a tutor, I am able to specifically assess what a person already knows and what pieces remain to be filled. From that, I aim to guide them, using the knowledge they already have, to reach a better understanding of the material.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

The most important thing that a tutor can do for a student isn't to remove the obstacles that hold them back, but to convince them that they can remove them themselves.
