What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I like explaining Maths to students and seeing the light go on in their eyes when they start to understand. I enjoy using creative ways to help them to understand Maths. For example I use their interests or everyday life to teach them, such as sharing a pizza or buying things they love. I enjoy recognizing when the complexity of the equation needs breaking down into smaller steps. For example they may not have understood BEDMAS or BODMAS and therefore are not able to solve an equation. I will go back and explain that. I enjoy Maths and I enjoy helping students reach their goals.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

My strengths are I enjoy Maths, and working on problems by breaking them down into smaller steps. I am good at building relationships and helping young people feel comfortable. I am reliable and have had many years experience working in Classroom support in High Schools and Primary Schools, working with children who find Maths Challenging. I am attuned to identifying the step in the Maths they are unclear on. I am also good at helping students with English.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

The most important thing is to patiently guide the student to unravel the steps in a Math problem. It is important to see the problem from their point of view and clear up any areas where they do not understand. Important to encourage, encourage, encourage and support them to see their strengths in Maths and guide them to build on that, walking along side them.
