What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Math is the subject that I struggled with the most as a kid. Through the help of my tutors, I was able to make it my highest scoring ATAR subject in Year 12. I enjoy tutoring it because it allows me to help kids who see Math as a difficult subject that only people with natural ability can do well in. It gives me satisfaction when they realise that practice and dedication in the subject can lead to amazing results.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

Given that I've been tutoring online for almost two years, I've had several opportunities to reflect on my skills as a tutor. I would recognise my strengths as a tutor being patient, persistence and being able to tailor my lessons according to each student's strength and weaknesses.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is help them develop confidence in the subject that they teach. A lot of the time, students who get tutoring are told that they lack the ability to do the subject, which is not true. I believe that tutors are only responsible for around 20% of improvement seen in student grades; majority of the improvement is done by the student who is able to understand and apply the tutor's teachings and advice.
