What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The most enjoyable thing about tutoring is getting to meet all sorts of new people. These people range in ages, personalities and abilities. Finding the best way to help them out and actually executing a plan that you tailored specifically for them is definitely the most fun thing about tutoring for me. It feels exceptionally rewarding because I have learnt who this person is and the different things that they need to succeed.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think one of my best strengths for tutoring is my ability to communicate. Knowledge in the subject matter is very important but regardless of how knowledgable you are, you must be able to clearly and effectively communicate this. I think since I've had lots of experience in roles such as captaincy of my school house and various volleyball teams, I have developed the skills to be able to do this with a wide variety of students.
Another strength that I have is the previously mentioned knowledge. I spent many hours learning the course and was able to achieve high scores in WACE (99.40),
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I myself have had trouble with certain subjects in school and without a good teacher it really affected not just my grades but also my perception of myself. During this time my mother sent me to a tutor who was able to improve my previously weak grades. That tutor was able to give me confidence in my skills again and also obviously increased my grades dramatically. That's why I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to give back their confidence in themselves.
