What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I love helping others gain confidence in areas of mathematics they previously struggled with and in turn seeing them enjoy the subject.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
As a tutor, I am adaptable in developing tailored lessons/plans to suit each studentβs learning abilities and rate of learning. I possess patience, empathy, and benevolence which assists me in creating a safe environment for healthy student growth.
As the degree I am studying (Bachelor of Speech Pathology) involves interacting with and teaching children, I also have experience in how children learn and develop, as well as strategies to effectively engage them in educational activities.
Most important things I can do for a student π
The most important things a tutor can do for students are to anticipate and adapt to any situation while remaining accessible at all times.
During the stress of year 12, my tutor eased my worries by always answering my questions, even if it meant adjusting her plans or using her spare time to help. She was consistently supportive and available whenever I needed guidance, always happy to help and never pressured me to reach a certain expectation.
This approach effectively improved my understanding and grade for the subject, increasing confidence and enabling me to achieve my academic goals.
