What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

As a current volunteer tutor, my favourite part about tutoring is learning about the students. Their strengths and weaknesses, their goals and just having conversations with them to get to know them more are what makes the experience so enriching and also helpful for the student.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I think being able to provide an environment for students where they can freely express their concerns and questions is essential for any tutor. Making a student comfortable allows them to maximise their potential and get the most out of the experience as well. By tutoring several students as a volunteer, I have seen many students on different levels and had the ability to be able to set individual goals with them each lesson and achieve them too!

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

The most important thing a tutor can do is to help the student recognise their own potential. Alongside teaching them, it is just as important to ensure they realise they are capable of figuring things out on their own too (of course with some support!). This enables them to try their best and set the highest goals they can which is what I would aim to do for my students.
