What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I believe tutoring not only helps the student but also the tutor. I believe education is such a privilege and vital to society, through tutoring I have learnt that while I may be teaching maths or science, but the students teach me and show me each time their unwavering perseverance and love for learning. I enjoy when I see students improve just a grade letter and feel the returns of the investment they have put into their studies, I think it is vital for education to be made available to everyone and I would love to partake in it.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
One of my biggest strengths I would say is being patient. Not everyone learns the same and I believe it's ok to take small steps as long as you are trying. I have experience with tutoring children as young as three years old and one of my biggest takeaways would be to be patient. Children, especially young children do not just grow up with the discipline and stamina adults and older secondary students may have and I am very mindful of that. Patients and caring for each student personally and being invested in their education, is what I hope to bring to each student.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing I would say, would be to cater to each student's unique method of learning. There are many ways of digesting information and of understanding, many students struggle in school because they are forced to fit into only one or two ways of studying and learning, which may not be the most helpful for them. I as a tutor, pay attention and identify how a student most effectively uptakes information, whether its through hearing, seeing, reading or writing. I am always prepared to take the extra time to curate any materials needed to aid students in their learning.
