What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The fact that I can make a difference in other people's lives for the net positive. For instance at school, in helping younger students with english, getting them to understand concepts and ways of thinking I always struggled with helps them to achieve higher results and enjoy english again.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
From my schooling experience in helping younger students, my ability to relate to their struggle to understand concepts and theories that I struggled with myself. In forming that connection and understanding them, I can then provide them more personal, caring help to improve their marks.
Further, the recognition that not everyone is on the same level academically, that some people require more time and deeper explanation of concepts, whilst other simply need elucidation that they have the talent; and, with a bit of hard work, they can succeed.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Provide them with confidence: with my own experience in the subjects myself, I can show them the path they can follow to improve their marks, the advice I can give as an expert giving them encouragement that things are not hopeless, and that success is tangible.
Teach them how to think, not parrot: I learnt myself in highschool english, my teacher would always challenge us with hard questions that didn't match our prewritten essays and notes. This wasn't to make things impossible, but to get us to think on our feet. If I could achieve a similar outcome, that would really fulfill me as a tutor.
