What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
The growth and the grateful expression of my students from diverse age groups enlightened me the most, especially during the times I felt mentally drained. The majority of my former students came from backgrounds in which they were not able to access proper and standard early education in childhood, therefore, it was always a challenge for me to adapt teaching style, guide the right pathway, foster skills, and build confidence. However, the outcome was always rewarding the efforts I put in. In addition, I also love the personal connections we developed together.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
The strengths in my role as a tutor would be the ability to simplify the lesson's content by breaking it into digestible parts. After a few sessions, I can identify the area that needs improvement and tailor my teaching style to match with studentsβ learning styles. Other strengths are patience and adaptability, which enable me to connect with students and boost their engagement in the process of learning.
Most important things I can do for a student π
As a tutor, supportive and motivated learning environment is crucial for all learners.
Stress and Pressure from formal schooling are more than enough to drain them physically and mentally. Hence, tutoring should serve as a place/ period for them to freely make mistakes, share their perspective, inspire a love for learning, and level up their confidence in their abilities.
