What do I enjoy most about tutoring? ๐
I think what I would enjoy most about tutoring is seeing others have that "lightbulb moment" when they grasp a challenging concept. It's rewarding to be part of someone's learning journey and to help make complex ideas more accessible. I also appreciate the collaborative aspect of tutoringโlearning often goes both ways, and each session can be an opportunity to gain new perspectives.
My Strengths as Tutor ๐ช
As a tutor, I think my strengths lie in patience, adaptability, and effective communication. Being the third youngest of eight siblings, I've had plenty of practice breaking down complex ideas into simpler terms and adjusting my approach to suit different learning styles. My experience as a math tutor shows my ability to handle structured content and help others navigate challenging problems step-by-step. Together, these experiences contribute to a strong foundation for understanding and supporting a diverse range of learners.
Most important things I can do for a student ๐
I think the most important things a tutor can do for a student are to build their confidence, provide clarity on challenging concepts, and, most importantly, inspire a genuine curiosity to learn more. A good tutor should create an environment where students feel supported, ask questions freely, and explore topics beyond the lesson because they want to find the answers. By sparking that internal drive to learn out of curiosity, rather than obligation, a tutor can help turn learning into an enjoyable and self-motivated journey.

Simultaneous equations and Venn diagrams needed more practice so gave questions on this. Just needs more practice on questions and time management as most questions that were wrong were due to not reading the question well or running out of time.
Algebra --> worked on algebraic skills and spent the hour on these questions

Time management --> a lot of questions that weren't answered were due to running out of time. Mental skills efficiency --> took a while completing mental skills that should be quicker. Eg. doing 6 x 3 took a lot longer than expected
