What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy seeing other people succeed through improving their own skills and knowledge. I firmly believe that everyone is capable of learning everything in the current Australian curriculum up to year 12 students. Only a good pedagogy and learning process is necessary.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I would describe myself as being empathetic and patient. I would always try to provide examples and provide ideas to guide the students towards understanding the topic at hand.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I believe a tutor should always be able to accommodate to the students' circumstances when helping them learn something new. Many tutors are often high-scoring students, while many students will be those struggling. This leads to some tutors not being considerate enough of the students' lack of prior knowledge and understanding. It is the tutor's task to provide different ways for the student to learn, including new ideas which schools or teachers may not be able to, or may not have time to do.

About William

About Me

Hi! I'm William, I'm a current University of Melbourne student, studying mathematics and computer and information systems. I was born in Canberra and went to school there, though I currently live in Melbourne for my studies.

About Tutoring

I've had many tutors in the past as I went through high school, for all sorts of STEM subjects. These varied from 1-on-1, to classroom-sized groups with 1 tutor. From my experiences as a student in these, as well as some of my own casual tutoring for students in my class, I believe I have a deep and relevant understanding of tutoring. However, I'm not perfect by any means, and I always look to improve myself with new knowledge!

My hobbies

In my downtime, I like to read novels, or solve interesting logic puzzles. I'm a big fan of sudokus and math puzzles or brain teasers. I also like to code and make small programs for various things, usually something to do with visual graphs. All in all, I do things which are interesting and fun to me!
