What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy the challenge of teaching children from a perspective that they understand. I feel rewarded by knowing that I have provided them with easy tools and techniques that create effective and long-lasting learning. I enjoy sharing my passion for subjects like maths, english and biology in an attempt to create a passion for these subjects in others, especially when they are having difficulties. I find comfort in knowing that I can clear any doubts and provide new and captivating information to students that will encourage them to learn.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I find that I am a very good communicator, especially with younger children. I am a strategic yet flexible tutor. I enjoy simplifying big concepts in a way that is engaging and interesting for the student. I am empathetic, patient and always put myself in the shoes of my student to get a better idea of their understanding. To consolidate the learning of my students, I ensure that I am aware of my own learning so as to provide them with the most benefit.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I believe that listening to the student is among the most important things a tutor can do. It is imperative that the student feels comfortable to share concepts that they feel unfamiliar with, therefore building a relationship with them is crucial. Having a good understanding of the student's optimal way of learning is also beneficial to the tutor.

About Yenela

Teacher at heart!

I have always been a teacher and mentor! I started out by tutoring my younger siblings when they were struggling with school, and subsequently developed a passion for it! I went on to tutor kids in primary and secondary school while I was studying. I even had the opportunity to undergo a teaching internship at my old primary school, where I taught kids as young as 3 years old! These experiences have been incredibly fulfilling to me.

Physiotherapy student

I am currently studying a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) at The University of Adelaide! I am excited to use all the skills and knowledge I will gain to make meaningful connections with people and help them in any way possible.

Hobbies :)

I have a huge passion for singing and have been in several opera productions in my home country Mauritius ever since I was a child. Additionally, I enjoy travelling around the world to learn about new cultures and languages. I am also interested in stories, whether they present themselves in a book, films or even conversations.
