What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
There are two things I enjoy most. Being able to encourage a learning experience that adapts to the learner rather than a 30 person classroom. Secondly, seeing that spark when things click within a student's eyes when only moments ago they doubted their ability to even understand the question.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My ability to enable simple and "modular" learning. This is done by providing a breakdown of a complex problem to digestable bite sized pieces. Feel free to ask for examples! Also I pride myself in being an attentive and listener as ultimately I can't engage a student if I'm unable to understand and build rapport with them. Finally, my other strength would be in thinking beyond the curriculum, I believe in meta-learning, specifically the "learning of learning", and this enables a long term framework that enables youth to adapt to a variety of future curriculum rather than a short term test.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important things to me is to engage, motivate and involve the student with their study. Too many students suffer from sidelining and taking a backseat in education due to a number of reasons. Hence, being able to link a student's passion by showing how education is not a blocker but rather an enabler for their curiousities and wonders is thus the most important thing. Of course, assisting and "traditional" tutoring is just as important but without proper engagement the effectiveness is more than halved!

About Christofer
IT and Math Nerd
I have a really strong passion for anything cyber or mathematics and am always down to listen or rant with someone regarding them! My passions were led down to data science (from math), programming and cyber security, but there are plenty of avenues. I have broad knowledge of various entryways into IT at differing levels, as well as free/ paid resources that could help get to that vision. And am happy to share for any student with any interest in the industry :)
Picture Context
My profile picture is from me when I helped host what's called a "Hackathon". This event involves a group of students banding together for a weekend to pull a project, or "hack", together regardless of their skill level in IT. I helped run the event in varying ways from catering to assisting groups in getting their bearings.

Kept up with visualising and maintaining attention to unknown future content, was able to connect it with existing knowledge throughout the session. Algebra showcasing improvement, a good quantity of practice being shown, frequency of mistakes have reduced in a tutoring and non-tutoring environment. Has covered the term's content with confidence, questions to be continually practiced the student is aware of/ listed
No specific qualms student is doing amazing and showing vast improvement in weaknesses. Needs of improvement regardless are: - algebra fundamentals/ consistency - translating visual learning to their preferred learning style (written/ formulaic relationships) - lateral/ micro-oriented skills with breaking down questions into manageable chunks Note: all of the above has seen very strong improvement since tutoring started, but these won't be fully fleshed out without ~50 hrs of conscious practice or a couple months with tutoring/ improved self-learning.

Lack of fundamentals from personal study means tutoring is essentially spent enhancing the learning of the topic with the student rather than enhancing existing knowledge. Struggles with wordier examples/ shortening lecture bloat, seen improvement compared to last weeks regardless
