What do I enjoy most about tutoring? šŸ˜

The main aspect is the gratification I get from helping students who are struggling with a certain subject/topic, or just need some guidance to be set in the right direction.

My Strengths as Tutor šŸ’Ŗ

I believe one of my main strengths is my ability to communicate simple and complex ideas to enable the student to understand more clearly. I also believe that I can effectively connect with students of different backgrounds and ages to adapt to different teaching/tutoring styles to best suit their individual needs.

Most important things I can do for a student šŸ…

One of the most important things a tutor can do for a student is to tailor the lessons to fit the individual's needs, strengths and weaknesses. Another essential aspect is to provide constructive feedback that allows the student to consistently grow and improve. Finally, setting realistic academic goals and creating a plan to achieve them is another vital aspect that a tutor needs to do for a student.

About Syed Taha

Education Background

Iā€™m currently in my penultimate year, pursuing an undergraduate double degree in commerce/computer science at the University of New South Wales

Past Experience

I have around 7 months of total experience of tutoring. The first student that I took on the responsibility of was in year 8 studying at a private school in Bondi. I was tasked with helping improve his grades in Maths, and particularly in English, as the school was quite competitive. There, I personally prepared tutoring sessions according to the school material shown to me, and out of other things, went through practice papers and subject textbook problems, and provided critical feedback relevant to the strengths and weaknesses of the student. After a month of tutoring this student, I took on a new role where I tutored 3 siblings each in years 6, 8 and 9. Here, I had to adapt to the different circumstances and ages of the students, planning my tutoring sessions accordingly.
