What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
There are many things in tutoring that I enjoy, but the thing I enjoy most is when I can see how much my student has improved - whether during the session itself when they have finally grasped the concepts or when results are out and I see that they've been doing well and are able to keep up.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My main strengths as a tutor are my ability to breakdown complicated concepts into simpler terms for my students, and my ability to empathize and understand my student's situation and be able to create actionable plans and adjustments to cater further to the student's needs to improve performance.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
More important than anything else, an effective tutor must be able to meet the student at their level, whether that is their level of understanding or lack thereof of a given topic, or even going the extra mile and addressing external circumstances they face that affect their academic performance.

Again, similar comments to last week, but also even more progression and willingness to work details out are also essential for this topic, as one can only recognise which identities to use if they pop out in your solution.

He was a good bit rusty when we started, but he was quickly able to get up to speed - and he was able to solve some pretty difficult questions rather creatively. He has also started to get better organising his thoughts in his solutions.
Just like with every other revision with more shaky topics, more practice is always recommended - especially with regards to his pattern recognition for logarithmic identities.
He generally understood the concepts in these 2 topics well, and he asked some really good questions that showed deeper thinking and analysis of the topics.

He just needs a little more practice with regards to the area under the curve and with using the dot product to solve more advanced questions.

His most recent validation test results came back, and were much better than the previous results. He also was able to implement a more organised solution scheme after showing him an example of doing so, which enabled him to answer correctly some of the questions he got wrong.
Just getting him more into habit with solution writing by giving him simple, but longer-winded questions can always do good. This coming break will also present a good opportunity to really establish good organisational habits coming into the next term.
