What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
There are many things in tutoring that I enjoy, but the thing I enjoy most is when I can see how much my student has improved - whether during the session itself when they have finally grasped the concepts or when results are out and I see that they've been doing well and are able to keep up.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My main strengths as a tutor are my ability to breakdown complicated concepts into simpler terms for my students, and my ability to empathize and understand my student's situation and be able to create actionable plans and adjustments to cater further to the student's needs to improve performance.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
More important than anything else, an effective tutor must be able to meet the student at their level, whether that is their level of understanding or lack thereof of a given topic, or even going the extra mile and addressing external circumstances they face that affect their academic performance.

His most recent validation test results came back, and it wasn't that good, and when we analysed his errors, it was stuff that he got right during our sessions but weren't able to translate to the exam. A part of it was that he didn't bring notes to the exam when he was supposed to, but he also needs more polish to be able to execute what he is capable of doing onto the exam, so some exam reviewers may be in order.

She did fine in her most recent trigonometry test (65%), with much of what was discussed in our trigonometry session transferring. She was also a bit quicker this time recalling concepts, especially older ones from earlier in the year, and applying them, which is a sign of good progress.
In the exam, she only really had one error - which was not identifying which times to divide both sides by the trigonometric function, which was about 30% of the test because this was asked frequently, so this is something that has to be hammered home for the overall exam revisions. Also, she still did have some warts with functions, so that is also a point of emphasis in our review this coming week.
The student was able to grasp the concept and apply it quickly, showing little problems executing the procedures necessary to carry out the operation.

He was rather unorganised in general, both with how he constructs his solutions, which severely impedes him whenever he did commit an error, or just his studying in general (which was the main concern coming in, as his general performance has been really good).
She was able to identify angles and sides really well, and was able to fairly readily apply the trigonometric function definitions pretty well.

Her rather rusty fundamentals in linear equations showed up a fair amount when trying to manipulate the trigonometric function relationships to solve for a variable. Recommendations are similar to last weeks, however the review will have to be a bit more intensive and reacclimatory.
