What do I enjoy most about tutoring? ๐
I find tutoring incredibly fulfilling because it allows me to make a tangible difference in a student's academic journey. Witnessing a student's growth, from struggling with concepts to mastering them, brings me immense joy and satisfaction. I especially love the moment when a student finally grasps a difficult concept โ their eyes light up with understanding and confidence. Tutoring also provides a unique opportunity to build meaningful relationships and adapt my teaching approach to meet each student's individual needs, making the learning process more engaging and effective.
My Strengths as Tutor ๐ช
I believe my strengths as a tutor are in helping students understand the underlying concepts rather than just memorising information. I break down complex ideas into simple parts and use real-life examples to make subjects like biology, science, math, and English more relatable. I'm patient and adaptable, so I can adjust my teaching methods to fit each student's unique learning style, keeping them engaged and motivated. I also focus on building a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and expressing their difficulties.
Most important things I can do for a student ๐
I believe the most important things a tutor can do for a student are to help them truly understand the material, build their confidence, and make learning enjoyable. It is about explaining concepts in a way that makes sense to them, encouraging them when they are struggling, and finding ways to keep them engaged and interested. A good tutor helps students see their own potential and develop a love for learning, even for subjects they may not initially gravitate towards.

We were able to plan what our lessons would look like, both for Maths and English including recap time, guided instruction and skill building. I also bought Sidiqa two writing books (one for math and one for English) and a folder for any printed worksheets.
It was a good first lesson to get to know Sadiqa and see the gaps in her learning that I could help. Maybe one thing that can be improved is the completing the assigned assessment. This would really help me see where is at and build a learning progression to aid in her Maths learning.
