What do I enjoy most about tutoring? ๐
My favourite part of tutoring is when students experience that 'lightbulb' moment of understanding something they were struggling with. I also enjoy working with a variety of different personalities.
My Strengths as Tutor ๐ช
My strengths (as a tutor) come from the myriad of teaching experience I have. I have worked in schools across Australia, the U.S and Japan, teaching a wide range of subjects and students (aged 4-70 years old). I have a decade of experience and my qualifications include a Masters in Teaching (Primary) and a Ba. Biological Sciences.
I also believe my bubbly personality and life experiences help me bond with my students.
Most important things I can do for a student ๐
Ensuring your student is feeling comfortable and confident to try new things is paramount. A student needs to understand that making mistakes is part of the learning process. They need to feel safe and comfortable to make mistakes.
I also try to incorporate the interests of a student into learning where possible. E.g. turning a math problem into one about basketball if that is their hobby. This helps student engagement and develops a rapport between student and tutor.
