What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I believe that tutoring is more than simply a 'teacher' and instead encompasses a student's growth which myself, as a tutor, can watch and be involved in. From my experience as a violin assistant tutor, I have found a sense of pride in knowing that I helped my student's find their potential and strengths, allowing them to achieve their best. Being a part of this process is what I enjoy most about tutoring.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Patience is key. As with any communication-based relationship, one must have patience so that information and understanding can be transferred efficiently, especially when it comes to young and eager students. As a tutor, I believe this is my best quality as I will be able to acknowledge my student's concerns, thinking process and explanations. By attentively engaging with them, this will allow me to better gauge how they are, both in terms of study and mentality, and assist them in learning to the best of their ability. I also communicate clearly to help others understand.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Naturally, a tutor's main priority is to provide profound and thorough knowledge through clear communication. I believe that while this is nuclear to the role, this teaching can only be achieved if the tutor also carries other accompanying qualities. This includes patience and listening, aforementioned, and trust. As a tutor, it is inevitable that my student will rely on me for guidance when they reach a hurdle or want to improve. Therefore, establishing trust through an encouraging, yet professional, demeanor will help my student feel motivated to continue studying with an enhanced mindset.
