I believe this communication skills and patience is key to helping students understand the work and not feel pressured or frustrated with themselves. The most important thing a tutor should be doing for a student is creating a safe and supportive environment in which the student feels comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. This will also boost the student's confidence in their own abilities allowing tutors to identify learning gaps easier to see where the student is struggling. I am a university student completing a degree in chemical engineering. I am a first-year student maintaining HD's and D's in all my classes. My current semester timetable is classes from 8am-6pm tuesday, wednesday, and thursday however, on friday I finish at 1pm. I have a strong understanding of chemistry, mathematics and physics.
