What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Although I have not tutored professionally before, I have helped my classmates a lot throughout year 12 maths methods. What was most rewarding to me was seeing their improvement after I explained a concept or helped them with a question; it was really great to watch their maths knowledge grow and to see them perform well on assessments.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

Apart from my vast knowledge on the subject of maths, I would say my main strength would be communication. During year 12, I was a junior leader of a youth program in which I had to lead 15-17 year olds. I was also part of the debating team. Through both these opportunities, I learned to communicate clearly and concisely with teenagers, which I think as a skill should be transferable to tutoring.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think the most important job of a tutor is to help the student, not just in answering questions, but by giving them a fundamental understanding of the content that they would be able to reapply to many other questions, particularly ones that are curveballs. Apart from that, giving them the belief that they can do well if they just apply themselves is also really important, as success only comes through motivation.
