What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy the chance to connect with the students and improve their academic skills whilst also improving their confidence and self belief. I think that tutoring can have a positive impact on how students view themselves academically which can alter the way they perceive their abilities at school, university and even the workforce.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My biggest strength is my ability to make students feel welcome and comfortable. I always prioritise their needs emotionally as well as academically as I know this will enhance their tutoring experience. I focus on having a positive attitude and making sure that I\'m listening to students verbal and non verbal cues so that I can keep them engaged and resilient, particularly, when the work becomes challenging. Past experiences working with kids in a range of environments has meant that my communication skills, specifically with kids has developed well and is also a strength of mine.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe that the most important thing a tutor can do is encourage students. This applies to all abilities from extension to students that are behind their year group. By offering praise for both effort and results a tutor can create an environment that is positive and engaging. This encourages students to keep coming back and to keep working hard, improving academic abilities and confidence.
